INVEST ATLANTA TO RING THE OPENING NASDAQ BELL ON MARCH 9
Atlanta Fortifies its Position as High Tech Hotbed
ATLANTA – March 8, 2012 – Invest Atlanta President & CEO Brian McGowan will ring the NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell at the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square on March 9, 2012. Mr. McGowan will be accompanied by more than 20 cutting-edge Atlanta-based technology companies, as they promote the emerging tech industry cluster and hidden tech sector.
“Atlanta is home to some of the country’s leading tech companies but it is also a hotbed of entrepreneurial activity. The city offers an eco-system that supports young and creative tech companies to emerge as the next generation leaders,” said Brian McGowan, president & CEO of Invest Atlanta. “Invest Atlanta’s new programs are designed to assist and encourage the growth of small businesses, start-ups, and entrepreneurship. We want to set the pace for the country, for this sector.”
“Atlanta has a rich history for entrepreneurship and a community that not only embraces, but fosters the growth of start-up firms through incubators, support organizations and events designed to put companies in front of the right investors and funnel resources to the right projects,” added Hans Gant, Senior Vice President, Economic Development for Metro Atlanta Chamber.
