NEW YORK – March 9, 2012 – The President & CEO of Invest Atlanta, Brian McGowan, rang the opening bell this morning for the NASDAQ Stock Market. Mr. McGowan was accompanied by representatives of 16 Atlanta-based technology companies as part of an initiative to promote small businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurship in Atlanta.
Atlanta is ranked third in the country for cities with the most Fortune 500 headquarters, is the second most wired city, and the third most business-friendly city in the U.S. Atlanta was also recently ranked the number one city for innovation by Zipcar’s Future Metropolis Index. Invest Atlanta is the official economic development authority for the City of Atlanta.
