Clean and Green Manufacturing Within Atlanta
Atlanta continues to maintain a strong manufacturing presence, with clean and green manufacturing quickly gaining momentum. Many manufacturing companies within Atlanta have adopted new eco-friendly practices that improve the local community, while a growing number of startups have introduced inventive methods of sustainable manufacturing. One organization making an impact on the City is Refuel, which recycles used cooking oil produced by Atlanta restaurants, and processes it into biodiesel for the Atlanta market. Atlanta’s commitment to implementing sustainable practices has helped create an eco-friendly culture that is inviting to green manufacturers.
In an effort to bring awareness to green jobs in the City and around the nation, Atlanta will host a 2012 Good Jobs, Green Jobs Regional Conference, which aims to help build a foundation for a green economy.
