Working under the leadership of Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, I’m tremendously proud of all we’ve accomplished in 2018 in alignment with her One Atlanta vision.

We’ve worked closely with our partners to aggressively invest in programs that revive blighted properties, that provide quality, safe accommodations for our families and seniors and that keep long-time residents in their homes.

We also launched a robust initiative to bring transformative investment and resources to support Atlanta’s southside businesses. We successfully launched the Students2Startups program to help Atlanta-based students to complete entrepreneurial-focused internships with local startups. (And we’re ready to build on these successes this year!) We secured approval to develop The Gulch – estimated to be the single largest development in Atlanta in nearly 50 years – which will revitalize a long-underdeveloped area of Downtown Atlanta.

What’s more, we helped dozens of companies plant and grow their roots in Atlanta, including Norfolk Southern, a Fortune 500 that is bringing their headquarters to Atlanta along 850 new jobs.

In 2018, we supported the creation and retention of 10,832 jobs, 926 affordable housing units, and $1.6 billion in capital investment.

These numbers and our new innovative programs reflect both the range of our efforts and the scope of our strategy. Invest Atlanta’s priorities change and evolve based on the needs of Atlantans. We listen to what our leaders, businesses, civic organizations and residents have to say and respond with creative, holistic solutions.
