ATLANTA – Invest Atlanta today announced that it is hosting the 2014 NALHFA Annual Conference occurring Apr. 2 through Apr. 5 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta. The event, expected to attract more than 300 affordable housing finance practitioners from across the U.S., offers opportunities to share best practices in affordable housing.
“Atlanta has long been a leader in identifying unique approaches and partnerships to creating affordable housing opportunities,” said Mayor Kasim Reed. “As housing leaders from around the U.S. gather in Atlanta, we could not be more proud to highlight the work that we have already done and offer perspective on our bright future.”
NALHFA, founded in 1982, is the premier association working to finance affordable housing in the broader community development context at the local level. Invest Atlanta chief operating officer Ernestine Garey is currently serving as the President of NALHFA.
“The NALHFA conference will bring to Atlanta some of the most forward-thinking affordable housing specialists from around the nation,” said Invest Atlanta chief operating officer Ernestine Garey. “Best practices will be shared, as Invest Atlanta continues to seek innovative and collaborative strategies to address our critical housing needs.”
The theme of this year’s conference is Innovate, Collaborate and Celebrate, Atlanta 2014! Programming at the conference will highlight a variety of topics including sessions on transit oriented development, approaches to developing neighborhoods and housing sustainability. Conference workshops will also include discussions of Ponce City Market and the neighborhoods surrounding the new Atlanta Falcons Stadium.
