ATLANTA – June 24, 2024 – Invest Atlanta today announced the City of Atlanta Recovery Fund grant program is now open for applications. The $7.5 million program approved by the Atlanta City Council will provide financial support to eligible small businesses and their employees adversely affected by the recent water service disruptions in certain areas of the city of Atlanta. Applications will close on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
The scope of the program was expanded to cover lost wages for small business employees who were unable to work or had reduced worktime during the disruption. Small businesses applying for an Atlanta Recovery Fund grant may request $200 per eligible employee.
“After water service was compromised, we assessed the economic impact our small businesses and their employees sustained and are working to get this funding out as quickly as possible,” said Dr. Elosia Klementich, president and CEO of Invest Atlanta. “I want to thank Mayor Dickens and the Atlanta City Council for their leadership in supporting small businesses during this unprecedented time so they can continue to provide jobs and services to our communities.”
Small businesses can apply for a grant through Invest Atlanta’s website by visiting www.investatlanta.com/businessrecovery. Interested businesses must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Only businesses with a verifiable address within the impact boil water advisory area will be eligible.
- Priority is given to industries most directly impacted such as restaurants, beauty salons, coffee shops, and daycares.
- Businesses must be registered with the Georgia Secretary of State and have an active City of Atlanta business license.
- Certain businesses are ineligible per the program guidelines.
