Coming Soon to Sweet Auburn: Community Office Space Empowered by the Eastside TAD Grant

Invest Atlanta recently approved a $715,000 from the Eastside TAD (Tax Allocation District) Community Empowerment Fund to finance Thrive Sweet Auburn. This new construction mixed-use development will provide a co-work office facility within the community for critically needed non-profit services and community-serving small businesses.

Located at 302-284 Decatur Street, one block west of the King Memorial MARTA station, the developer Project Community Connections, Inc. (PCCI) will create approximately 15,577 square feet of new office space and 117 affordable rental units. TAD funding will assist in building out the office spaces.

The hybrid-office space includes a combination of leasable offices, desks and flexible workspace, all supported by amenities such as reservable conference rooms and a small media studio.

In July, the board also approved Eastside TAD funding for renovations on another community space located at 458 and 460 Edgewood Avenue. With the Eastside TAD funding guidelines requiring that a percentage of below-market, for-rent commercial spaces be available, these projects demonstrate the City’s commitment to creating affordable office space for local and disadvantaged businesses as part of its economic mobility initiative.
