Small Business Improvement Grant Helps Goodr Feed Its Mission

Invest Atlanta has long supported Goodr’s mission to fight hunger and feed communities, including its first standalone, brick-and-mortar location in the Sweet Auburn District. With funding assistance from a $300,000 Atlanta Food Access Catalyst Grant, the Goodr Community Market on Edgewood brings food security and food retail under one roof – providing free groceries to 200 families per month while also serving market-rate shoppers.

Continuing its support for Goodr’s mission, the Invest Atlanta Board approved a $50,000 Eastside Tax Allocation District (TAD) Small Business Improvement Grant to help finance build-out costs that exceeded initial estimates. The grant will enhance Goodr’s ability to serve as an oasis for fresh, healthy food in an area deemed a food desert and improve the building’s exterior patio areas to support community events and on-site dining.
