C-PACE Financing Leads to Significant Energy Efficiencies

The Invest Atlanta Board has approved two more Atlanta Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) projects – helping PREP ATL South and the Origin Hotel incorporate high-efficiency measures to further the City’s clean energy goals.

PREP ATL South

PREP ATL South, a shared commercial kitchen space tailored for food truck owners and food production companies, will utilize $1.95 million in C-PACE financing for its facility in the Sylvan Hills neighborhood. High-efficiency upgrades will help PREP ATL South save more than $64,000 in annual energy and water costs and eliminate almost 300,000 pounds of CO2 emissions each year.

Origin Hotel

What was once a vacant commercial building in Downtown Atlanta is now being transformed into an upscale hospitality development. In addition to activating the community, the Origin Hotel will utilize $4.99 million in high-efficiency measures that will generate almost $20,000 in annual utility savings and eliminate over 200,000 pounds of CO2 emissions annually.

The C-PACE program provides financing to help companies make needed structural property repairs and upgrades to save energy and water. A wide range of commercial property types qualify for C-PACE financing, including hospitality, retail, mixed-use and multifamily buildings. Property owners can choose from hundreds of eligible building improvements, ranging from windows and doors to roofing, solar panel arrays and HVAC units.

Since January 2024, four projects have received more than $13 million in C-PACE financing through Invest Atlanta.
