The Invest Atlanta Board approved $400,000 in Tax Allocation District (TAD) funding as part of its ongoing effort to strengthen Atlanta small businesses through Small Business Improvement Grants (SBIG).
Designed to help local businesses stabilize and grow by investing in their storefronts and interiors, the SBIG program allows eligible small businesses to make property improvements, façade enhancements, code compliance updates and other capital investments that advance business operations and community vitality.
According to Mayor Andre Dickens, who also serves as Invest Atlanta Board chair, investing in small businesses is an investment in Atlanta’s future. “As we prepare for global moments like the FIFA World Cup 2026TM, we are doubling down on our commitment to help businesses have the resources to capitalize on this historic opportunity,” says Mayor Dickens. “From access to capital and workforce support to marketing and procurement opportunities we are ensuring small and neighborhood businesses are positioned to benefit from the increased attention and economic activity these events bring.”
The SBIG program supports businesses across a wide range of industries – including retail, food service, creative enterprises and professional services – and prioritize locally owned businesses that contribute to job creation, neighborhood revitalization and equitable economic development.
“These grants are designed to meet entrepreneurs where they are,” says Dr. Eloisa Klementich, president and CEO of Invest Atlanta, “helping them invest in their spaces, strengthen their operations and position their businesses for long-term success.”
By reducing financial barriers to complete necessary improvements, the Invest Atlanta SBIG program helps small businesses remain competitive while also enhancing commercial corridors and improving the overall customer experience. A total of 21 businesses were approved for more than $1 million in SBIG funding in 2025, including these in the latest round of approvals:
Champ’s Seafood & Grill
A $50,000 Campbellton TAD SBIG will fund interior and exterior improvements to this small commercial property on Campbellton Road that has been serving the Southwest Atlanta community for over a year. Upgrades will support additional dining capacity and special events as Champ’s Seafood & Grill continues to grow within the community.
The Commissary Club
A $50,000 Perry Bolton TAD SBIG will support interior and exterior improvements to what is currently a vacant small commercial property on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. The husband-wife team plans to revitalize the existing building to include all elements required by state licensing regulations for basic food truck commissary operations. After experiencing challenges finding commissary space near their neighborhood for their own food truck business, they are opening The Commissary Club to provide additional infrastructure for mobile food businesses on Atlanta’s Westside.
Delilah’s Everyday Soul
A $50,000 Westside TAD SBIG will help finance a full buildout of a vacant commercial property on Mitchell Street for Delilah’s newest location on historic Hotel Row in South Downtown. With three successful operations at Atlanta-area food halls, the new South Downtown location will be the first stand-alone, brick-and-mortar operation for this independent, local business.
Port City Kitchen
A $50,000 Metropolitan TAD SBIG will fund improvements to the previously vacant restaurant space on Cleveland Avenue to support a new quick-service restaurant. Port City Kitchen will showcase cuisines from different port cities, such as Baltimore and New Orleans, and plans to feature guest chefs from Atlanta’s mobile food business community.
Duke Dental Management
A $50,000 Metropolitan TAD SBIG will finance interior and exterior improvements to the small commercial property on Cleveland Avenue that will be home to Duke Dental Management. Funding will support the complete renovation of a vacant legacy building, which previously housed the Lee Dental practice for several decades. The new dental practice will provide comprehensive dental services to the local community.
Ms. Ethel’s Kitchen
A $50,000 Metropolitan TAD SBIG will fund the renovation and modernization of a previously vacant restaurant space on Cleveland Avenue. The new restaurant will feature fresh soul food recipes in a cozy space, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Miss Conduck
A $50,000 Eastside TAD SBIG will finance a series of essential improvements to the small commercial property on Edgewood Avenue, including the ability to fully utilize an outdoor dining area and improve the overall customer experience. Miss Conduck is a mother-and-daughter-owned business that has been operating in the Sweet Auburn District for two years.
Brewhouse Café
A $50,000 Eastside TAD SBIG will support a full buildout of Brewhouse Café’s second location, bringing this long-time Little Five Points institution to Downtown’s historic South Broad Street.
