Supporting Small Business Sustainability

The Invest Atlanta Board continues to help Atlanta’s small businesses stay resilient and competitive, approving another round of Tax Allocation District (TAD) funding for Small Business Improvement Grants (SBIG), marking the sixth round since the program launched in 2025.

The SBIG program supports a diverse mix of industries, prioritizing those that create jobs, fuel neighborhood revitalization and advance equitable economic growth. In this latest round, six businesses were awarded a total of $300,000 in SBIG funding, including:

Stir House Atlanta

A $50,000 Westside TAD SBIG will help fund improvements to the restaurant’s interior and exterior spaces to enhance the customer experience and modernize the 100-year-old space. Located on Broad Street, Stir House Atlanta features a plant-based menu, bringing flavorful vegan cuisine to Downtown Atlanta.

Timiya’s Kitchen

A $50,000 Hollowell/Martin Luther King TAD SBIG will support upgrades to the kitchen and food preparation areas, interior improvements, along with signage and other infrastructure needed to strengthen daily operations. Timiya’s Kitchen is a soul food restaurant that successfully transitioned from a food truck to a brick-and-mortar establishment on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Identity ATL

A $50,000 Westside TAD SBIG will help finance custom shelving and interior finishes along with plumbing, restroom, electrical and HVAC improvements. Identity ATL is a streetwear clothing brand with a retail storefront in Castleberry Hill, known for its original apparel designs and curated products that reflect Atlanta’s culture and creative community.

Estrellita

A $50,000 Eastside TAD SBIG will help fund the buildout of a new South Downtown location, including interior renovations to enhance the restaurant environment and expand operational capacity. Estrellita is a Filipino family restaurant in Grant Park. Its second location on Broad Street is expected to open in time for World Cup activities.

Taj Perfumes

A $50,000 Eastside TAD SBIG will support window replacement and interior renovations, including wall preparation, painting, trim and finish carpentry. Located on Broad Street, Taj Perfumes is a locally owned retail business serving the Atlanta community with specialty fragrances and personal care products.

Kenny T’s

A $50,000 Westside TAD SBIG will help finance exterior painting, interior flooring upgrades, outdoor pavilion installation, electrical and security enhancements, as well as fixture and signage improvements to Kenny T’s retail location. Located on Walker Street, Kenny T’s is a full-service branding and marketing company that also serves as a retail store featuring specialty products.
